FARIDPUR: The district transport workers called off bus strike here after getting assurance from the authorities concerned.

On Monday, the bus communications were halted in the district following a clash between the bus workers and human haulers in Rajbari intersection.

Sources said that the strike started from 10:00am on the day.

Later, workers agreed to withdraw the strike on assurance of the ban of human haulers and punishment of them who beat the bus driver and its helper earlier, sources added.

Faridpur Additional Superintend of Police (ASP) Kamruzzaman said stern action would be taken against the involved persons in this connection.
