Train kills ex-army man in city

DHAKA: A retired army official was killed as a train knocked him down in city's Mahakhali area on Monday.

The deceased was identified as Faruk Ashfak, 65, a former brigadier general of Bangladesh Army.

Witness said that the victim was seriously injured after train hit him during passing the Mahakhali rail-crossing in the noon.

Later, he was rushed to the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) where he succumbed to his injuries.

Kamalapur Government Railway Police (GRP) Thana Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abdul Majid confirmed the matter to banglanews.
