DHAKA: Speakers at a human chain have demanded to sign deal with different countries, including Switzerland, with a view to stopping money laundering abroad.

They came up with the plea at the human chain organized by some 12 organizations, including Equity and Justice Working Group (EquityBD), in front of the National Press Club in the city on Tuesday morning.

The speakers said the agreement has to be inked in order to return the laundered money from foreign banks, including the Swiss Bank through stopping political vengeance.

Revenue has to be collected from the returned money and steps have to be taken against those who laundered money through over and under invoice by the opening fake companies, they added.

Other organizers of the human chain include Online Knowledge Society, Orpon, Unnayan Dhara Trust, MKS, Kishanee Sobha, Coastal Development Partnership, National Workers’ Alliance, Development Synergy Institute and Bangladesh Farmers’ Federation.
