Decision on India visit to quiz Nur Wednesday

DHAKA: The administrative probe committee on gruesome seven-murder in Narayanganj will decide Wednesday whether its delegation to go to India to quiz Nur Hossain, the main accused of the case.

A meeting in this regard is going to be held on the day same, Additional secretary of Public Administration Ministry Shahjahan Ali Mollah, the investigation committee chairman, told journalists.

He made the remark after submitting the investigation progress report of the sensational Narayanganj-7 murder to the court on Tuesday.

The committee has already quizzed a total number of 335 persons in this case, he added. To quiz more for information committee urged for four weeks more before the court.

A Narayanganj City Corporation panel mayor Nazrul Islam and a senior lawyer Chandan Sarker along with five others were abducted on April 27 from the Narayanganj court area.

Later, police found their bodies floating in the river Sitalakkhya after three days of their abduction.

A seven-member administrative probe body was constituted on May 7 following an instruction of the High Court.

Nur Hossain, the prime accused of this incident and his aides Obaidur Rahman and Sumon Khan, whom were arrested from near of the Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport of Kolkata are now in Indian police custody.
