Hill cutting continues in Cox’s Bazar

RAMU (COX’S BAZAR): Influential people are building up big concrete houses by cutting hills illegally in Panja Ghonar Para under the Rajarkul reserved forest range of the upazila.

Locals alleged that one Dil Mohhammad, son of Solaiman of Dokkhindip Faterkul village, is constructing a poultry firm there, causing an adverse impact on the environment.

The hill cutting also triggered mixed reaction among the local people.

Dil, however, admitted the illegal hill cutting saying it did not matter to him

Rajarkul range officer Amir Hamza told banglanews, “Upon receiving the allegation, authorities concerned visited the place and stopped the construction works.”
