COMILLA: Two motorcyclists died in Chandina while another was seriously injured on Thursday evening as a covered van crashed into their bike.

The deceased were identified as Anwar Hossain, 30, son of Abdul Barek, residing in Maheshpur village of the district’s Barura upazila and Kabir Hossain, 22, son of Siddiqur Rahman, living in the village same.

Mynamati Highway Police Station Officer-in-charge (OC) Mashiur Rahman told banglanews that the incident took place when a covered van smashed the motorbike near Katherpool Bridge on Dhaka-Chittagong highway around 5:45pm, leaving the trio injured.

They were rushed to the Chandina Upazila Health Complex where doctors pronounced Anwar and Kabir brought dead, he added.

However, the injured Abdul Haque has been shifted to the Comilla Medical College Hospital for better treatment.
