BENAPOLE, JESSORE: A man committed suicide hearing the suicidal news of his wife in Benapole of the district on Thursday though his wife survived. 

The deceased was identified as Billal, 22, son of Abdul Kader, hailed from Naranpur village.   

Local and police sources said that Billal married six month ago but his wife Jamena Khatun, 19, could not accept his profession as Billal was a van driver. Later, on Saturday Jamena attempted to commit suicide. 

Hearing the news of Jamena’s suicide, Billal also tried to commit suicide drinking poison. 

Later, both were rushed to Benapole Upazila Health Complex where Billal died on Wednesday around 6:00pm but Jamena survived. 

Benapole Port Thana Sub-Inspector Rafiqul Islam confirmed the matter to banglanews.
