DHAKA: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina expressed deep shock at the demise of former lawmaker and renowned journalist Baby Moudud.

PM’s press secretary AKM Shamim Chowdhury confirmed the matter to banglanews.

Sheikh Hasina also went to the hospital to mourn her death.

Earlier, 66 years old Baby Moudud passed away at United Hospital in the capital on Friday.

She breathed her last at noon while undergoing treatment at the hospital.

Baby Moudud, school friend of Prime minister Sheikh Hasina, was suffering from many diseases for long days. 

She was born on June 23, 1948. Her father is Justice Abdul Moudud and mother is Hedaetun Nesa.

She was serving bdnews24.com as its social affairs editor.

Earlier, Baby Moudud has worked for many newspapers and magazine including the daily Ittefaq, Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha and weekly Bichitara.
