LAXMIPUR: An Awami League activist was shot to death by miscreants in Poddar Bazaar area of Sadar upazila of the district early Saturday.

The deceased was identified as Ahsan Ullah, 45, son of Sultan Ahmad.

Locals said that miscreants opened fire aiming Ahsan while he was returning home from his work station around 2:30am, leaving him dead on the spot.

Sub-Inspector of Duttapara Police Investigation Center In-charge Wahiduzzaman confirmed the matter to banglanews. 

Basikpur UP Awami League president Amir Hossain told banglanews that Ahsan Ullah was activist of the party.
