DHAKA: An on duty Ansar member was strangulated to death in Kamalapur Railway Station area in the city on Thursday morning.

The deceased was identified as Imdadul Haq, 22, hailed from Mashula village of Haluaghat Thana of Mymensingh district.

On information, Shahjahanpur Thana police recovered the body around 10:00am and sent it to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) morgue.

Masudur Rehman, Sub-inspector (SI) of the thana, said, “Around 9:30am the residents of Kamalapur area found the body lying on the street and informed the police.”

“No case has been filed yet,” he added.
