DHAKA: Cabinet has approved the draft of National Broadcast Policy-2014.

The draft of the policy was okayed on Monday at a regular meeting of the cabinet, held at Secretariat with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in the chair.

After the meeting, cabinet secretary Mohammad Mosharraf Hossain Bhuiyan told media that the cabinet has approved the draft on observation.

According to the secretary, the cabinet considers the policy as a positive sign for the development of broadcast industry.

There were also policies in the previous years, but the current draft presents a complete policy in this regard, the secretary said.

He added that the policy includes seven chapters.
