Major reshuffle in police

DHAKA: In a latest reshuffle in police administration, some eight senior officials, including deputy inspector general (DIG), police have been transferred. 

The home ministry issued an order in this regard on Monday afternoon. 

According to the new arrangement Chittagong police’s DIG Nausher Ali has been made Telecommunication and Information Management (TIM) chief in Dhaka while DIG of Armed Police Battalion (APBn) Moniruzzaman sent to the Naval Department.

Besides, central police hospital director Abu Musa Fakhrul Islam Khan has been transferred to the APBn Department and Dr Mohammad Sadikur Rahman Khan got the charges of Rajarbagh Police Hospital.

However, Police headquarters in-charge Humayun Kabir was made Barisal Range DIG while Dhaka Telecommunication and Information Management chief was transferred to Rajshahi Range DIG, Chittagong Metropolitan Police Commissioner Shafiqul Islam was promoted as Chittagong Range DIG and Rajshahi Range DIG Mir Shahidul Islam got the charges of Special Branch.
