DHAKA: Prime Minster Sheikh Hasina and Speaker Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury expressed deep shock at the death of Bilkis Moyezuddin, mother of State Minister for Women and Children Affairs Meher Afroz Chumki.

Hasina also offered her grave condolences to the bereaved family members and prayed for eternal salvation to Bilkis’ departed soul.

Shirin Sharmin also expressed her profound shock at the death of Bilkis, said a statement of Jatiya Sangsad’s Public Relation department on Saturday.

Bilkis passed away at a city hospital at 11:15pm on Friday after suffering from cancer for long.

Her husband Md Moyezuddin was one of the organizers of Independence War in 1971. Bilkis was survived by five daughters and a son.
