DHAKA: A second year honors student drowned in a pond adjacent to Khilgaon Taltala Super Market area of the city on Monday evening.

The deceased was identified as Zahidul Islam, 23, student of Siddheswari Degree College, also son of one Hossain Ali, resident of Tipaibagh area of Khilgaon in city.

Quoting witnesses, Sub-Inspector of Khilgaon Thana Robiul Islam told banglanews that Zahidul went to wash his legs but slipped into the pond and drowned.

Uncle of the deceased Ismail Hossain confirmed the matter to banglanews.
