Mizarul Quayes victim of conspiracy!

LONDON: Bangladesh high commissioner to Britain Mohammed Mizarul Quayes has been transferring to Brazil.

Foreign affairs ministry issued a press release about the matter.

The transfer of Quayes raised question among the Bangladesh community in Britain as they thought that it is a deliberate step to proof the high commissioner as failure.

British expatriate journalist and litterateur Abdul Gaffar Chowdhury said that Quayes is victim of conspiracy by some vested quarters though he is a proficient and patriot high commissioner.

The supporters of war criminals and some people who are cherished in the government are trying to do harm of Quayes, he added.

Nawshin Mansur, graduated from London Greenwich University, said she has been interested about Bangladesh because of the high commissioner. She came to know about the history, culture and non-communal mentality of Bangladeshi people.

Hearing the transfer of Quayes, former British minister and labour party MP James Fitzpatrick said, “I am sorry to hear of his departure. I enjoyed working with Quayes and will miss him.”

After on January 5 election, when some lawmakers of All Party Parliamentary Group on Bangladesh (APPG) of British Parliament, criticized the polls without participation of the main opposition, Quayes tried to illustrate the relevance and importance of the election presenting the logical arguments and data sets.

When some British MPs in parliament, in a long discussion, raised questions about the allocation of International Development Fund (Overseas Development Aid-ADA), then Quayes tried to prove with data set that Britain use the development funds through the NGOs of their choice, not through Bangladesh  government.

Because of Quayes’ logical point of view and his colleagues’ successful diplomatic steps, Britain realizes the relevance and importance of the election and during Bangladesh tour, British minister of state for international development Alan Duncan on Wednesday termed the January 5 general elections legal and legitimate.

Besides, accepting the January 5 election and Sheikh Hasina government, the British government invited the Bangladesh premier to attend the Girls summit held in London.

Head of News Milton Rahman of London based channel BanglaTV raised a question to Banglanews that how he could be harmful for Bangladesh as he is the one who was awarded honorary membership of ‘Friends of the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust’.
