BD progresses in quality health services

CHITTAGONG: US Ambassador to Bangladesh Dan W Mozena said that Bangladesh has made a significant progress in providing standard health services.

He came up with the assertion to the journalists after visiting the Pediatric Surgery Department of Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH), the second largest medical college hospital in Bangladesh, on Friday morning.

The US envoy also said that America has an affiliation in the development of this sector in Bangladesh.

Mozena also talked with the patients and their relatives about the standard of medical services of the hospital.

He was satisfied after making the visit and said the doctors are sincerely taking care of the patients. Moreover, the hospital is well furnished with advanced technological support, he added.

The joint attempt of Bangladesh and US has minimized the infant and maternal mortality rate, Mozena further said.

The US ambassador also thanked the Director, Head of Pediatric Surgery Department and doctors of the hospital for their responsible service.

He said that many Bangladeshi doctors have experienced the medical service of America after visiting there and now they can apply the knowledge here.

US will provide further aid to Bangladesh which will bring a revolutionary change in this sector, he added.

The Director of CMCH Brigadier General Khandaker Shahidul Gani, Principal of the institute Selim Mohammad Jahangir, Head of Pediatric Surgery Department Dr Tahmina Banu were present among others.
