CHANDPUR: A cargo ship capsized in Meghna River in Puranbazar area of the district on Tuesday morning.

Sources said that the goods laden cargo ship was hit by another cargo ship and capsized in the area around 7:30am.

The cargo was carrying some 1200 tons cement clinker. Meanwhile, 12 crews were rescued by locals.

On information Chandpur Fire Service men rushed to the spot and trying to recover the ship.

Confirming the matter Master Faridul Islam Station Master Faridul Islam Monir said that the location of Cargo ship could not be found yet.
