DHAKA: The new-born baby that went missing from Dhaka Medical College Hospital a week back has been recovered by Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) early Thursday from Gazipur a day into High Court order for judicial inquiry.
Confirming the matter RAB Legal and Media Wing Director Major Rumman Mahmud said that the law enforcers rescued the baby from Ananda Bazar area of Board Bazar in Gazipur on Wednesday night.
Meanwhile, RAB detained two women named Amena Khatun and Rahima.
On August 20, Runa Akhter, a resident of Mohammadpur Block-F, 41/9 in city gave birth to a pair of twins at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH).
Later on August 21 an unidentified a woman stole one of the babies from the hospital.
Later, DMCH formed a probe committee and filed a case with Shahbagh Thana in this connection.
On the other hand, on August 27, the High Court directed authorities concerned to conduct a judicial inquiry into the incident.
