KISHOREGANJ: A man chopped his elder brother to death over land dispute at Nimkhali village under Hossainpur upazila of the district on Saturday afternoon.

The deceased was identified as Abdur Rashid, 60, son of Askar Ali of the area.

Police and local sources said Abdur Rashid and his younger brother Siraj Mia locked into an altercation over land dispute around 4:00pm.

At one stage, Siraj chopped his brother, leaving him dead on the spot.

On information, police rushed in and detained the killer.

However, the body was sent to Kishoreganj Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy.

Officer-in-Charge of Hossainpur Thana M Nannu Mollah confirmed the matter to banglanews.
