DHAKA: The Election Commission (EC) started the voter list update from Monday in Dhaka metropolitan area.

The process includes National Identity card correction, address changing, name enlistment. 

Besides, Election Commission (EC) started phone call service for the easy service to voters as if no voters remained out of voter list.  

On the other hand, the voter list update has started at 121 upazilas in the country. 

The update process started on May 15 with an estimation of five percent increase in the list.

In 1st and second phases, a total 30, 82,287 voters were registered in 350 upazilas across the country with a 3.81 percent increase rate.

Chief Election Commissioner Kazi Rakibuddin Ahmad said that enumerators will go for door-to-door data collection.

According to the EC, total 9,19,50,641 voters are enlisted in the country.
