BOGRA: Two people drowned in floodwater at Dhunat upazila of the district on Monday.

The deceased were identified as Monika Khatun, 15, daughter of Saheb Ali, hailed from Shiali village and Safi Khatun, 13, daughter of Abdul Baki, resident of Kadai village.

Dhunat Upazila Parishad Chairman Alhajj AKM Touhidul Alam Mamun told banglanews Monika drowned in the floodwater while returning from workplace in the noon.

Relatives recovered the body around 4:00pm, he added.

On the other hand, Inspector of Dhunat Fire Service Yakub Ali told banglanews that Safi Khatun drowned in the floodwater while crossing a canal in the area.

The body was recovered around 3:00pm, he added.
