4 held with 18,000 Yaba in Cox’s Bazar

COX’S BAZAR: Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) held here four persons, including two women, with 17, 948 pieces of Yaba tablets from Degillar Beel, a vast water body, at Sabrang village in Teknaf of the district.

The detainee were identified as Aziza Khatun, 20, wife of Abdul Amin, Fatema, 18, wife of Mir Kashem, Rafique Ahmed, 30, son of late Hafiz Ahmed, and Waz Karim, 35, son of Abdul Mannaf of the village.

Sources told banglanews that tipped-off, a team of BGB battalion-42, launched a drive there and held those with the drugs from the house of Abdul Amin.

BGB battalion-42 commanding officer lieutenant colonel Abujar Al Zahid, however, confirmed the matter.

He said that a case has also been filed with Teknaf Thana in this connection where one more of the four has also been accused.
