FROM PARLIAMENT: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Wednesday said a new law cane be formulated to ban hartal if the countrymen want.

She also asked the public representatives to raise public opinion in this regard.

The prime minister came with the assertion while addressing parliament in response to a question from Jatiya Party lawmaker MA Hannan in the Jatiya Sangsad in the afternoon.

The parliament leader also said, “Staging movements is a political right. But we saw human, vehicles on fire and vandalism that was shameful.”

He added: “It was not acceptable and public opinion should be raised against this destructive works for people.”

Awami League president also told the House said what happened a few days ago cannot be called movements. “That was murder and another form of terrorism and militancy,” she observed.

Sheikh Hasina added: “I cannot say anything about introducing the act. All the parliamentarians, in unison, can take the decision if the people want.”
