DHAKA: The government has appointed M Munsur Ali Sikder NDC, Chairman to Bangladesh Chemical Industries Corporation, as acting secretary to the Ministry of Railway.

The Public Administration Ministry issued a gazette notification regarding the appointment on Thursday.

M Munsur Ali will replace current Secretary to the Ministry of Railway Abul Kalam Azad as his Post Retirement Leave (PRL) will start on September 12.

M Munsur Ali started his career as an engineer in 1982 and was promoted as deputy-secretary in 2003.

Later, he observed duties at Ministry of Industries, RAJUK, Women and Children Affairs Ministry and at Bangladesh Sugar and Food Industries Corporation (BSFIC).

He acted as Additional Secretary to the Ministry of Industries before joining at BCIC.
