DHAKA: Road, Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader on Thursday categorically said the construction works of metro-rail would begin from next January.

The minister came up with the disclosure in response to a query of journalists during his visit to Moghbazar-Mouchak Flyover road in the capital.

He said, “The ministry has already approved a metro-rail design along with designs of 16 stations and the works will begin from the beginning of next year.”

Seeking apology for public sufferings, the minister also said that the works of Moghbazar-Mouchak Flyover would end by June of 2015.

He also said the communications would be better during Eid and Puja.
