DHAKA: An Awami League leader, who sustained injuries when miscreants chopped him with lethal weapon at Azimpur Chhapra mosque area, died at Dhaka Medical College Hospital on Sunday morning.

The deceased was identified as Sahabuddin Sabu, 45, Awami League leader of Lalbagh ward No. 26.

Sources said that on September 12, some 4/5 men chopped him in the around 12:30am, leaving him critically injured.

Later, the injured was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) where he died around 7:00am under treatment.

Confirming the matter Lalbagh Thana Sub-Inspector Mohibullah told banglanews following the matter a case was filed and police detained four suspects.
