DHAKA: An unidentified youth was killed in a gunfight with the Detective Branch (DB) of police in the city’s Mugda Model Town area early Sunday.

DB assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Sanjay Kumar Sheel told banglanews, police had information that a deal of arms trading was underway in the area.

Later, as police drove operation there, the gang fired bullets targeting the lawmen; police retailed with gunshots, leaving the youth bullet-hit, added Sanjay.

He was taken to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital where on-duty doctor declared him dead.

Three police men were also injured in the gunfight; they were admitted at the Rajarbagh Police Line Hospital, added Sanjay.
