DHAKA: Some fifty seven inspectors of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) sat for an examination for the post of Officer-in Charge (OC) on Tuesday evening.

The examination has started at 6:30pm at DMP Headquarters.

DMP media division confirmed the matter.

DMP deputy police commissioner (media) Masudur Rahman told banglanews that DMP took the initiative to increase its quality of service.

He also said that written and viva examinations are being taken for 57 inspectors. The laws, ability to face challenging situations and their manners will be monitored in the examination, he added.

This will help police to be more people-friendly, he further said.

Last year, DMP also arranged the examination attended by 50 inspectors. Seven of them succeeded and some of them are working now as OC.

Two of them Abu Bakar Siddique and MA Zalil are performing their duties as OC in Dhanmondi and Badda thana respectively.
