DHAKA: The liberation war affairs ministry has cancelled the fake freedom fighter certificates of another 24 people as well as the gazette notifications about their freedom fighter status.

The freedom fighter certificates and gazette notifications of two other government officials were cancelled following investigation as per order of higher court.

The order signed by deputy secretary M Salimullah stated that a gazette notification was published in 2012 certifying 2,367 people from NAP, Communist Party, Chhatra Union, and Special Guerilla Forces as freedom fighters 

One M Momtaj Ali Akand filed a writ petition against 26 people alleging them as fake freedom fighters.

Following the petition, a probe body was formed as per High Court order. In investigation report, it was proved that those people who have taken certificates from the ministry are not real freedom fighters.
