FROM NEW DELHI: Visiting Foreign Minister Abul Hasan Mahmud Ali categorically said, the meeting with Indian Finance Minister Arun Jaitley was amicable.
The minister made the remark after a meeting with Indian Minister at his residence at New Delhi on Friday evening.
Abul Hasan Mahmud Ali said, “The meeting was held in friendly environment and so do were with Indian Water Resources Minister Uma Bharati, President Pranab Mukherjee, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, opposition leader Golam Nabi Azad earlier in the day.”
Over all meetings, the minister said, “Details of those meetings will be discussed at Joint Consultative Commission (JCC) meeting at Nehru Bhaban at 11:00am Saturday where Indian Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj will be present.”
It is third JCC meeting and a platform to discuss everything in details, the minister added.
Earlier on Thursday, minister Mahmud Ali reached New Delhi on 4-day official visit to attend at Bangladesh-India Joint Consultative Commission meeting.
High Commission source said, after ending JCC meeting, the minister will fly for New York on Saturday night to attend 69th General Assembly of United Nations.
He will be accompanied by Foreign Secretary Shahidul Haque and Abdus Sobhan Sikder, Principal Secretary of Prime Minister's Office.
