A total of 47 Bangladeshi nationals were repatriated from war-torn Lebanon today on a Qatar Airways flight (QR 640) at 9:15 am, with full government expenditure.
The repatriation was facilitated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment, the Embassy of Bangladesh in Beirut, and the International Organization for Migration (IOM).
This brings the total number of Bangladeshis repatriated from Lebanon to 1,246 across 19 flights. Upon arrival at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, returnees were welcomed by officials, and IOM provided each with Taka 5,000, food supplies, and basic medical care.
The government continues to cover repatriation costs for all Bangladeshis seeking to return due to the ongoing violence, while efforts to ensure the safety of those still in Lebanon persist.
One Bangladeshi national has been reported dead due to the conflict.
