DHAKA: Mashrafe Bin Mortaza has been named as the new captain of the Bangladesh Cricket Team for one day international (ODI), with all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan as his deputy.
They are going to lead the Tigers in the upcoming home series against Zimbabwe while Mushfiqur Rahim has retained the Test captaincy and Tamim Iqbal will assist him.
The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) declared the new order on Tuesday, said related sources.
However, the Bangladesh and Zimbabwe will meet for three Tests and five ODIs at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka, Sheikh Abu Naser Stadium in Khulna and Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chittagong, between 25 October and 1 December.
