DHAKA: A worker died after he fell down from a nine-storied under-construction building in Jamalcaot area of the city’s Cantonment Wednesday.

The deceased was identified as Lutfar Rahman, 30, son of late Monru Mian of Beltali village under Taraganj upazila of Rangpur district.

Sources said Lutfar was critically injured after he had slipped down to ground when working on the stairs of the 6th floor of the building at 8:00am.

Later, he was rushed to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital where on-duty doctor pronounced him dead at 10:00am.
