DHAKA: After an hour travel break in Sylhet, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina arrived here on Thursday after wrapping up her ten-day USA and UK tour.

At first, the aircraft carrying the PM and her entourage landed at Sylhet Osmani International Airport at 9.00am and later, the premier landed at Shahjalal International Airport at 11:00am.

The Prime Minister will hold a press conference Friday to brief the media about the outcome of her New York visit.

Sources concerned said the press briefing will be held at Gono Bhaban, official resident of the PM, in the afternoon

Awami League Central Organizing Secretary Misbah Uddin Siran, District Awami League President Abdus Jahir Chowdhury Sufian, General Secretary Shafiqur Rahman Chowdhury met the premier at VIP lounge of the Sylhet airport.

For PM’s one-hour break at Sylhet, additional security measures have been taken at the airport and surrounding areas.

Earlier, a flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines (BG-061) carrying the Prime Minister left London Heathrow Airport for home at 6:50pm Wednesday.

Newly appointed Bangladesh High Commissioner to UK M Abdul Hannan, Deputy High Commissioner Khandaker M Talha, President of UK Unit Awami League Sultan Sharif, Vice-president Jalal Uddin, general secretary Syed Faruq among others, saw off the Premier at Heathrow Airport.
