JAMALPUR: Two minors drowned in a pond in Sengua village under Sarishabari Upazila of the district on Thursday afternoon.

The deceased were identified as Sadia, 5, daughter of Ubaydul Haque and Kawsar, 4, son of Hafizur. 

Sources said that the victims were playing near to a pond near their house, at one stage they slipped into the pond and drowned. After one and half hour search, locals rescued the minors.

Later, the victims were rushed to Sarishabari Upazila Health Complex where duty doctor declared them dead. 

Union Parisad Chairman Ajmat Ali confirmed the matter to banglanews.
