GAIBANDHA: A teenage boy was electrocuted in Shantiram village of Shantipur union in Sundarganj upazila of the district on Saturday noon.

The deceased was identified as Aminul Islam, 15, son of Alam Mia.

Shantipur Union Parisad chairman Abdul Mannan Sarkar said that the victim was cutting a tree in the village.

At one stage, he came in contact with a live electric wire in the tree, leaving him dead on the spot.

Confirming the matter Sundarganj Thana Officer-in-Charge Mozammel Haque told banglanews an Unnatural Death (UD) case was filed in this connection.
