DHAKA: President Abdul Hamid greeted all people of the country on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha to be celebrated on Monday.

The President, in a greeting message issued on Saturday, said the spirit of sacrifice of the Eid is an epitome of showing respect and love to the Almighty Allah.

The deep obedience and devotion, which Hazrat Ibrahim (AS) showed to Allah by sacrificing his beloved son Hazrat Ismail (AS) as being asked by Allah, is incomparable in the world’s history, he added.

Hamid said, the inner message of the Eid shows respect, tolerance and love to each other and to follow the teachings and ideals of the Eid to build a peaceful and amiable society.

He urged all to be inspired with the spirit of sacrifice, taking lessons from the sacrifice made by Hazrat Ibrahim (AS).

The President hoped that Eid-ul-Azha will further strengthen the unity, solidarity and fraternity of the Muslim ummah and bring welfare for all.
