Mom, 2 sons burnt in Satkhira

SATKHIRA: A woman and her two sons sustained severe burn-injuries as miscreants threw acid and petrol bomb at their house in Langaljhara area under Kolaroa upazila early Wednesday.

The victims are Jharna Begum, 25, wife of Khalilur Rahman, their two sons Asad, 11, and Tanvir, 8.

They were undergoing treatment at the district Sadar Hospital.

Khalilur, who is a school teacher, said that his wife was sleeping with their sons in a room and he was sleeping in another room. He woke up hearing a noise around 1:00am and saw their rooms were burning.

The fire was doused with the help of the locals, that left his wife and two sons burnt and they were immediately admitted at the hospital, he added.

Hospital resident medical officer Dr Maruf Hasan said that the injured are in critical condition.

Kolaroa Thana Officer-In-Charge Masud Karim told that police are trying to nab the culprits.
