Two shot dead in Jhenaidah

JHENAIDAH: Police on Tuesday recovered the bullet riddle dead bodies of two people in Fulbarigate area under Kaliganj upazila of the district on Tuesday morning.

The victims were identified as Abdul Hadi, 40, son of Bhedo Dai, and Sohag Mian, 35, son of Thuto Rafiq. Both were hailed from Barabazapur village under Kotwali Thana of Jessore district.

Victims’ relatives Torab Ali and Babul went to the spot at 9:00am on the day and identified the bodies. They claimed to banglanews that some people wearing plainclothes picked up Hadi and Sohag from their house on Monday night. Their claim has not been confirmed yet.

Barabazar Union Parishad chairman Joynal Abedin of Kaliganj upazila told banglanews that these two people were brought here from outside, shot dead and left near Fulbarigate intersection.

Kaliganj Thana Inspector (Investigation) Yunus Ali told banglanews that, on information, they recovered the bodies at 9:00am and sent those to the district Sadar Hospital for autopsy 

The bodies bore bullet marks on the chests and the backs, which were kept lying inside a Brinjal field, added the inspector.

Quoting Jessore Kotwali police, Yunus said Hadi and Sohag were involved with terror activities of Ashkar Group in the southern parts of Sadar upazila of Jessore.

They were accused in several cases including murder in Kotwali Thana.

Kotwali Thana Officer-In-Charge Enamul Haque told banglanews, the deceased were notorious people and were accused in several cases including Kalil killing case.

Till filing this report at 10:30am, no case was filed with Kaliganj Thana in this connection.
