DHAKA: Additional security measures have been taken at central Shaheed Minar centering the issue of taking the body of BRAC University Professor Dr Piash Karim there on Friday.

On duty Assistant Sub-Inspector Habibur Rahman said that police forces will be deployed until further instruction.

On Thursday, Dr Piash Karim’s wife Dr Amena Mohsin sought permission to keep the body at central Shaheed Minar to pay tribute to him but university authority did not give permission.

Following the situations, three teams of riot police were deployed in the Shaheed Minar area.

On the other hand, BNP declared various programs on the death of Professor Dr Piash Karim.
