MP Badi’s remand hearing Oct 26

DHAKA: A Dhaka court on Sunday fixed October 26 for the remand hearing of MP Abdur Rahman Badi, elected from Cox’s Bazar-4 constituency, on in a case for his alleged involvement in attaining illegal assets.

The court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Ataul Haque passed the order in response to a plea of seeking 10-day remand by special public prosecutor (PP) M Kabir Hossain of Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).

On October 16, the Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge court denied the bail petition filed by Badi in the case.

On October 12, Metropolitan Magistrate Maruf Hossain of Dhaka sent MP Abdur Rahman Badi to jail.

On August 21, Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) Deputy Director Khairul Huda and Abdus Sobahan filed the case with Ramna Thana against him.

According to the statement, Badi submitted false statement about his wealth to the election commission in 2008 and 2013.

He hide the information about he wealth of Tk 10.87 crore and showed Tk 1.98 crore extra value of low cost assets.
