‘Piash Karim distributed leaflets for liberation war’

DHAKA: Law Minister Advocate Anisul Haque on Sunday categorically said Dr Piash Karim distributed leaflets for liberation war during 1971.

He also claimed that father of Piash Karim was forcibly made peace committee chairman in 1971.

The minister came up with the disclosure while talking to journalists at his secretariat office.

However, earlier in the day, spokesperson of Ganajagaran Mancha Dr Imran H Sarker along with other activists submitted a memorandum to the minister.

Anisul Haque also said, “Piash Karim was only 13 during the liberation war, but he distributed leaflets in favor of independence.”

Piash Karim was arrested by the Pakistani army two months before of the end of liberation war, he added.

Hs (Piash Karim) father MA Karim went to Pakistani army to free his son and he was forcefully made the chief of peace committee as bail-bond, the newsmen were told.

MA Karim was the district founder of Awami League, he added.
