DHAKA: The government has appointed Nazimuddin Chowdhury, additional secretary of energy and mineral resources department, as the chairman of Petrobangla.

He will serve as chairman of Petrobangla in addition of his current duty.

The ministry issued an order in this regards on Sunday.

The decision came as the contractual term of former chairman Professor M Hussain Monsur completed on Saturday.

Monsur, a geologist and senior professor of the Department of Geology of Dhaka University, took charge on October 18, 2009.
