BNP man bribes FBI to get info about Joy

NEW YORK: Bangladeshi citizen Rajib Ahmed Sizar admitted to bribing a former agent of Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) to get personal and secret information of a top Bangladeshi politician stored to US law enforcing agency.

US Department of Justice confirmed the matter.

Rajib, along with his accomplice Johannes Thale made a statement in this regard in front of Vincent L Briccetti, Judge of the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York.

Various media published news items saying Rajib was involved with bribing a former FBI agent, Robert Lastick, to retrieve personal and secret information of Sajib Wazed Joy, son of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

This time, Rajib himself acknowledged the matter in front of the court.

A charge has been framed against all three perpetrators.
