DHAKA: Bangladeshi Author Taslima Nasreen once again sparked controversy after she tweeted about her new boyfriend on Twitter.
She posted a picture of herself with her boyfriend and gave a status “My boyfriend is 20 years younger than me. It’s cool”.
Nearly 22 people retweeted the picture within 10 minutes after the post. The 52-year-old writer had recently asked for permit to stay in India for a longer period of time.
She had met Home Minister Rajnath Singh in August this year and asked for permission to stay in the country for longer. Singh had ensured her that a decision will be made about it soon.
Currently, the verification process of her visa is going on. Meanwhile, she has the temporary visa to stay in the country. Once the verification is completed, the ministry will take a stable decision about it.
Taslima was born in Bangladesh but was deported from the country because of her controversial writings. The Indian government has been providing her with resident visa since 2004.
The books written by Taslima Nasreen which are banned in Bangladesh include Lajja, published in 1993 and Amar Mebela.
