Bangladeshi killed in BSF firing

CHAPAINAWABGANJ: Indian Border Security Force (BSF) gunned down a Bangladeshi youth in Kironganj border area under Shibganj upazila of the district early Friday.

The victim was identified as M Soleman Ali, 25, son of Ejabul Haque of Zaminpur village of the upazila.

Border Guard Security (BGB) and local sources said BSF fired bullet targeting Soleman150 yards inside Indian territory from international border pillar no.179, near BGB camp in Kironganj border, leaving him dead on the spot.

On information, BGB personnel with the help of locals recovered the body in the morning and brought it to the victim’s home.

The body bore some 35 holes on the left side of the chest, said BGB Kironganj outpost camp commander habildar A. Sattar.

A letter has been sent to the BSF Churi Anantapur camp calling a flag meeting on the killing, told the commander to banglanews.
