7 workers burnt in separate factory blasts

DHAKA: At least seven workers sustained burn injures when separate explosions took place at two factories located in city’s Shampur and South Keraniganj areas early Sunday.

The injured are- Abu Sayeed, 30, Bulbul, 29, Moti, 35, Mahabub, 38, Badsha Mia, 17, Arif Hossain, 18 and Sujan, 30. 

They are undergoing treatment at the burn unit of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH), said DMCH burn unit Doctor Koushik Mollik.

Russel, co-worker of the victim, said to banglanews that suddenly, molten iron were tipped over the workers of Salam Steel Mill around 12:00 am, leaving the four who were working at the iron melting unit injured.

On the other hand, boiler of a factory exploded in Ekuria area of South Keraniganj, injuring three workers.
