Faruqi murder accused Mozaffar remanded

DHAKA: A Dhaka court on Sunday placed Mozaffar Uddin Mahsin on a two-day remand in a case of killing of Maulana Nurul Islam Faruqi, an Islamic program anchor of Channel-i.

Metropolitan Magistrate Tareq Moinul Islam Bhuiyan passed the order after Detective Branch (DB) of police produced him before the court with seven-day remand plea.

General Registrar Officer (GRO) Humayan Kabir of Sher-e-Bangla Police Station confirmed the matter to banglanews.

Earlier on October 27, some miscreants killed Faruqi in his residence in city’s East Razabazar area.

Victim’s son Faisal Faruqi filed a case against unknown nine people.

Later, the case was handed over to the DB police.
