Dhaka: Bodies of two unfortunate men, long time dead and buried, were Tuesday dug up by police from graves in the city for autopsy on court orders.

Police said the body of Hazi Abul Hossain was exhumed from Jurain graveyard and of Qudrat-e-Mawla Tusher, 15, from Shahjahanpur graveyard in the afternoon.

Both the bodies were sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital morgue for doing the due autopsy.

Abul Hossain of Kadamtali thana area was found dead in the city’s court area on April 27. He was buried without postmortem with a magistrate’s permission.

Later, the deceased’s family members filed a murder case with Kotwali thana suspecting that he “might have been killed”, said Shahid Hossain, son of the slain man.

After the hearing of the case, the court ordered police to dig up the dead to ascertain how he died.

Another unclaimed body, that is of Tushar, 15, hailed from Mirbagh under Ramna thana, was recovered from the city’s Madhubagh area on May 15 and buried at Shahjahanpur graveyard without autopsy.

But, knowing later on that Tushar was murdered, his family members filed a case with Ramna in police station.
