Bangladesh to work closely with UNESCAP

DHAKA: Permanent Representative of Bangladesh, Saida Muna Tasneem, reaffirmed the commitment of Bangladesh to work closely with the UNESCAP.

Tasneem, recently appointed Ambassador of Bangladesh to Thailand and the Permanent Representative of Bangladesh to the UNESCAP, remarked this when handing over her Letter of Introduction to the Executive Secretary of UNESCAP Dr Shamshad Akhtar.

The program was held at the ESCAP Secretariat in Bangkok on Tuesday.

During the meeting, she said, Bangladesh will work to enhance technical and capacity building cooperation in the areas of regional connectivity and integration, energy connectivity, sustainable development and trade facilitation. 

The Executive Secretary Shamshad also praised Bangladesh’s continued engagement and contribution to ESCAP’s works for the inclusive and sustainable economic and social development in Asia and the Pacific.
